Try a new skill or make time for one you already love! A class crafted by our talented inhouse team, select from our Debbie Bryan designed linen fabrics to create your new favourite accessory.

Spend the morning with us for slow embroidery and hand embellishment. Explore your creative ideas and put them into practice to create a unique final design to keep your pennies and pounds in.

Description

Purse Making Workshop: Slow Stitch & Embellishment

During this 2 hour Purse Making Workshop you will design and craft your own fabulous handmade piece.

During your time with us you will personalise your fabric and apply surface pattern design ideas through slow-stitch and by adding textured embellishments to your chosen fabric.

For this creative class, our design studio has created a heritage collection of lace inspired fabrics printed in on-trend colours and a series of fabrics that are a reproduction of our hand printed cyanotype blueprints.

The linear lace designs and cyanotype blueprints are inspired by our much loved Nottingham Lace Archive.

Our Archive includes highly detailed technical drawings, large scale vintage cyanotype blueprints, Nottingham lace punch cards and intricately made delicate laces and trims.

Our lace inspired designs have been digitally printed onto natural, high-quality cotton linen blend woven in the UK – a perfect fabric base for hand embroidery.

Debbie Bryan has a vast range of colourful embroidery threads, buttons and trims to choose from during your workshop and you will be provided with everything you need to create the best possible finished product.

To help you achieve your creative ambitions during your time with us, your workshop includes a take home hand embroidery how to guide and our inhouse creative team will provide you with instruction and support to complete your clasp purse.

Visiting

For this workshop, our fee includes all of your crafting materials, tea, coffee or cordial & cake.

If you’d like to enjoy additional food, drinks or crafts from our menus or tearoom, please feel free to stay after the workshop has ended.

If you’re booking a crafternoon with us, the length of your stay will depend on any extras you might be interested in, like our lovely cocktails (2h) or our classic afternoon tea (2.5h).

In this instance, we recommend confirming when arranging your visit to ensure your table is available past your allocated time slot.

To allow you this visiting time, our last booking slots are 2 (cocktails) or 3 (afternoon tea) hours before closure.

Gifting to a loved one? 

  • Leave an order note at check-out and we can email you an e-voucher to download and share with them!
  • Your recipient can then arrange their visit via our contact form here.
  • Quoting your order number as their verification (order number is detailed on your confirmation email).
  • To be redeemed within 12 months.
