Description

Nottingham Lace Applique Crafternoon

Your Nottingham Lace Applique Crafternoon includes an introduction from the Debbie Bryan team on tips and techniques, before you’ll be set on your way to creating your own design.

We work with ninth generation Lever’s Lace producers, Cluny Lace, for our superior quality and intricately patterned Nottingham Lace fabrics – which are inspired by design ideas dating back to the 1600’s. Based just eight miles away from our Lace Market design studio and gallery.

Notably in 2012, Cluny Lace provided the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace with lace to produce Kate Middleton’s royal lace appliqué for her veil and shoes – for her wedding to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

Our Lace producers are also associated with and create fabric for global brands BurberryJigsawVivienne WestwoodPaul SmithDolce and GabbanaEtro, and Christian Dior.

We did a crafternoon at Debbie Bryan for a bridal shower of 20 of us , all ages and all different abilities in the craft department! We had such a lovely time, the table was set up beautifully, the afternoon tea was really tastey, great quality and lots of choice and refills!
The craft was lovely, we did the lace applique and had a choice of brooches or hair slides, with lots of different colours and styles of lace. Debbie and Kate were brilliant teachers, and once you get into it it’s easy to get stuck in. It seemed to work for everyone as if you can’t sew (like me) they had fabric glue available.
The ladies at the studio really looked after us, they were attentive but relaxed and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the hen weekend. Really recommend going as part of a small or big party and I will definitely be heading back when I’m next in Nottingham. Thank you everyone for a lovely time!

Best cafe ever! The food, the crafts and staff are amazing!

  3. flashhorton

Amazing attention to detail with craft materials sourced in colours that matched the wedding theme. The lace applique workshop was a great way to work up an appetite for the most gorgeous afternoon tea,
