This repeating pattern, designed with puzzle shapes and six-petal floral drawings is a unique piece of the process for the production of Nottingham Lace trim. This fine example of the intricacies of the design is made all the more detailed by original technician notes, pencil markings and various items of extra information, dotted throughout the drawing.
This drawing was salvaged from Fewkes Lace Embroidery Company, which was established in 1910, and is famous for making the lace on Lady Diana Spencers wedding dress.
