Nottingham Lace Draughtsman Drawing 146/30713
Nottingham Lace Draughtsman Drawing 146/30713
A one of a kind design of a repeating pattern of graphic shapes and lines, circular with tear drops. This drawing is exceptional as it also details a much smaller variation of the design in the top right. This expert pencil drawing is unique example of Nottingham Lace design, and the illustrative skills of the maker.
This drawing was salvaged from Fewkes Lace Embroidery Company, which was established in 1910 and is famous for designing and manufacturing the lace for Lady Diana Spencer's wedding dress.
